TRNC Immigration Procedures and Permits

If people who will visit Northern Cyprus do not have a residence or work permit, in normal cases the person who will enter can legally stay in the TRNC for a maximum of 3 months. A 3-month entry visa is issued to enter the island.

Apart from these cases, if you own an immovable property (real estate) in Northern Cyprus, if the title deed of the property is registered in your name or not, you can apply for a residence permit through a sales contract. Thus, your residence permit starts for 1 year, and within the legal conditions, you are required to have some money in a bank with a branch in TRNC. The amount may change every year in accordance with the law.

If you are a foreigner and have the opportunity to start a business in TRNC, you can get a residence permit for 1 year. After the establishment of the company is completed, you can make the necessary applications. It is renewed every year.

Another permission is; It is a work permit. When you start working in a company in TRNC, the employer completes the necessary procedures and makes a preliminary application for your work permit. After the registration process of the foreign employee is completed, he/she starts working and the work permit process is completed. The work permit is considered valid as long as the employee works at that workplace.

Foreigners who enter the TRNC regularly can apply for a White ID if they have resided for at least 6 years (3 years for those aged 60 and over) and the property registered in their name is 125,000 EURO or more. With this ID, you can stay in TRNC for an unlimited period of time. The applicant must not leave the TRNC for more than 240 days in total within the 6-year period you specified before.
